Six roles to be cast:
Florence: (age: 20's or 30's) one of the guests; thinks that she has an imaginary son. Evangeline & Aloysius: (age: 20's) 2 hippies who have broken into The Cloisters to rob the place. Christine: (age: late 20’s-30’s) Dr. Emmett’s new assistant. Dr. Emmett: (age: 40-ish) head of The Cloisters The Officer: can be age 30-60.
SHOW SYNOPSIS: Depressed and world-weary, the reputedly wealthy Mrs. Savage returns to the sheltered precincts of The Cloisters, seeking refuge among her former fellow patients. But The Cloisters is on the verge of closing due to lack of funds, and as Mrs. Savage's fortune is now in the control of her greedy stepchildren, she is powerless to help. Until, that is, a “hippy” couple storm in bent on robbery - and Mrs. Savage persuades them to “kidnap” her, with her share of the ransom going to the sanitarium. One hilarious event follows another, leading to a heartwarming lesson in the essential goodness that lurks somewhere even in the worst (and sanest) of us.
Show dates: September 11-14 & 19-21, 2009 |
