Project Stream
Deadline: June 30, annually
Individual artists and non-profit groups may request up to $3000 for arts and
cultural activities planned to occur between September 1, 2008 and August 31,
2009. Potential applicants are strongly encouraged to attend a grant workshop,
held in each county of the service region. Those who do are eligible for bonus points during the review process.
Workshop dates and specific locations will be posted Spring 2008.

Local Government Grant Program
Arts Activities
for Chambersburg Area School District
Deadline: 8 weeks prior to proposed project start date
A partnership with the Borough of Chambersburg and the Pennsylvania Council on
the Arts, the Local Government Grant program offers awards up to $750 for arts
activities. Both individuals and organizations may apply. Proposed projects must
occur within the boundaries of the Chambersburg Area School District. To apply,
submit a one-page project description with a one-page project budget 8 weeks
prior to proposed project start date.
Pennsylvania Humanities Council
Grant
Humanities and the Arts
Grants
Deadline: rolling, and April 1
annually
The Pennsylvania Humanities Council inspires individuals to enjoy and share a
life of learning. Since 1973, the PHC has empowered local groups to offer
high-quality public programs that have a positive impact on the everyday life of
their communities.
The Pennsylvania Humanities
Council invites nonprofit organizations to apply for
Humanities-and-the-Arts Grants, which fund public programs that use the
humanities to increase understanding and appreciation of the arts. These
grants are offered in partnership with the Pennsylvania Council on the
Arts.
Mini-Project Grants (awards up
to $1,000) are available year-round. April 1 is the deadline for
Project Grants (awards up to $5,000).
Humanities-and-the-Arts
projects enrich the arts experience by involving participants in discussions
with humanities experts and artists through such events as workshops, discussion
groups, and lectures.

Arts in Education Residencies and Professional Development
PA Council on the Arts
Artist Residencies
Deadline: early February
Artists, artistic ensembles or
companies who live in Adams, Franklin, and/or York counties are invited to apply
for inclusion in the PA Council on the Arts' Directory of Pennsylvania
Artists in Education. To be eligible to conduct artist residencies through the PCA, artists must apply through the Cultural Alliance of York County.
Applications are now
available for both new and renewing artists on-line at
www.culturalalliance-york.org or you may contact the
Cultural Alliance of York County (717-812-9255 or
aie@culturalalliance-york.org). Completed applications
are due early February.
We strongly recommend that you
attend one of the information sessions that have been scheduled to help you with
the application process and to answer your questions. Those sessions will be:

A Refresher Statement: PA
Council on the Arts - Arts in Education: The AIE program works with and through
a network of local and regional arts organizations to support quality arts
education programs. Pennsylvania currently has 10 AIE Partners who fund and
coordinate art residencies in more than 50 counties. AIE places high-caliber
visual, performing, media, and literary artists in educational settings for
in-depth residencies that engage students and underscore the importance of the
arts in education. Artists are paid at least $175 per day for a minimum
eleven-day residency and will be provided studio/rehearsal space on-site during
the course of the residency.

Who is eligible? Artists of all
disciplines are eligible and encouraged to apply. Artists who will be
recommended for inclusion in the Directory of Pennsylvania Artists in
Education are those who:

demonstrate excellence in their
art form
-
have the ability to communicate
and interact effectively with students and adults, and
-
have the ability to plan and
implement sequential lessons that actively engage participants in the creative
process.
