Three Easy Steps Toward

a Fulfilling Career

I. Assessment of Self

Via assessment to your interests, aptitudes, values, goals, abilities, and personality, we can help you to get a better understanding of yourself. Through vocational testing and personal counseling, we will develop an organized picture of you, including types of people, activities, hobbies, and areas of work and study that interest you. We can help you to distinguish the values and goals that are are important to you and the kinds of careers would best suit you. In addition to eliminating the confusion associated with making such important decisions, the inventories we will administer will tell you some of the areas in which you would perform particularly well.

II. Investigation into the World of Work

We will provide you with current information on education and experience requirements, the occupational outlook for the future, average salaries in the job market, and further descriptions about any occupations that interest you.

III. Matching You to Your Occupation

After you have completed the inventories and we have interpreted and discussed the results, we will help you to match yourself to the careers that fit you. By comparing your test results with nationally normed scores of people who are currently in particular careers, we will give you a profile of how similar you are to men and women in given occupations.

IV. Vocational Tests and Career Inventories

1. Personal - Career Development Profile

The data from the The Personal-Career Development Profile provides information on types of occupations for which an individual has an affinity, based on similarities with overall occupational groups. The profile takes into consideration problem solving pattens, patterns of coping with stress, interpersonal interactions, career activity interests and organizational role/ work-setting trends, as well as general style of life. When incorporated into a career search, the profile from this inventory gives the individual clear suggestions of occupations with the highest probability of career satisfaction, as well as ideas for personal improvement.

2. Insight

Insight is a work aptitude, achievement, interest, and personality test that not only delivers concrete feedback on what a person enjoys doing and is interested in, but also on the areas in which an individual is skilled. The eight aptitude scales on Insight focus on cognitive reasoning, numerical aptitude, word knowledge, and mechanical perceptual, and psychomotor skills. The score from each section will inform the individual of strong points and areas in which he/she may excel. By comparing the results to the normative groups in a number of occupations, a person may determine whether or not a particular occupation would be suitable, and would lead to a successful career.

3. Career Assessment Inventory

This inventory is designed to assist a person in his/her vocational situation, whether it involves pursuing additional formal education or planning for a new and different occupation which would not entail further education. The CAI is an interest inventory which it systematically analyzes the interests of an individual, and compares the results to those people who are currently successful and happy in many varied occupations.
