Multisensory Neurostimulation Therapy

at Psychological Services

We use programmed audio and photic stimulation, multivoice binaul Priming whisper tracks, neuroscripting, microelectric nerve stimulation (MENS),audiostrobe,Polysync, Hypersync tones, and neurofeedback for neuroentrainment sometimes all at the same time. We use the Orion and the Mind's Eye hooked up to our famous "Egg Chair" for maximum effect. Psychotherapy and the resulting Neurotechnology has come a long way in the last 20 years in order to help the patient change his behavior and his mindset.

Priming

In the last 6 years, "Priming" has produced more published research papers than any other area of Psychology. Priming is the influencing of meaning, attitude, polarity, emotion or expectation of a conscious thought, feeling or attitude by a subliminally presented word or phrase just before or simultaneous with the conscious process. Remember priming words and phrases or visuals if that is being used will affect the ongoing conscious thought, if it is relevant. The priming must be related to the ongoing process to influence it. If you are thinking of something entirely different from the priming tape you may not receive any benefit. So stay on the tiopic, visualize goals relevant to the tape to which you are listening and do not let your mind wanter off the topic too much.

Mind State Management

Mind State Management is a technique to control your mind state (ie: relaxed, tense, concentrating, etc.) when you want to do so. We use Multisensory Neurostimulation and variations of it to do this. This is especially important in Anger Management , Emotional Control Training, Negotiation Training,Stop Smoking, Weight Reduction, Accelerated Learning Techniques, etc. It has also been quite helpful in relieving Depression, Panic, and Anxiety.

Peak Performance Training

This same technique,Multisensory Neurostimulation, is used in Peak Performance Training since it will allow us to doing the neural imprinting necessary to produce what Dr. Frank Young calls the Ideal Performance State (IPS).

The right side of the brain seems to be more involved with the priming process even when it involves words as contrasted to visual images. By using the light and sound in a ramping format, we can first influence the brain to switch to the right side which is more accepting. The multivoice binaural whisper tracts "talk" to the right brain, while the center tract "talks" to the left brain. We set up specific postitive scripting for our patients that we tell them once we see that they have "relaxed" and are producing the correct brain waves in the correct area of the brain. This techinque is very powerful. It is a sort of programed Hypnosis that corrects inappropriate "self talks" that we all have in our subconcious part of our brain.

The Therapy is enjoyable, painless, and you maintain complete control of the process during your therapy. You can write your own scripts.

Everything You Always Wanted To Know About Hypnosis...

 What is hypnosis?

A natural process of deep relaxation and fixation of attention. A super-concentration of the mind, similar to day dreaming or meditation, leading to an altered state of consciousness which facilitates communication with the subconscious and allows heightened response to suggestions.

Self-hypnosis is both a state of mind and a way of using your mind. Self-hypnosis is a state of mind in which physiological, cognitive, and affective processes are combined in order to organize personality around selected goals. In other words it is a way to unify and harmonize your body, thoughts, and feelings so that you may achieve more personal successes in life -- and achieve them more easily.

Self-Hypnosis Is Your Mind At Work (In Rest)

Self-hypnosis is an entryway into both the dynamic energies of the mind's powerful imagination and the deep quiet of inner consciousness. It thus enables both aspects of the whole mind to work together in uniquely effective ways.Self-hypnosis is therefore a remarkable technique for accessing the inner knowledge and transforming power of the whole mind. The best way by far to develop your ability to create and maintain the strong mental images that are known to produce lasting results

What is hypnotherapy?

A method of therapy which seeks to dramatize thought into specific action for a definite end, most notably the treatment of [mind and/or body] disease. Since 1977, Hypnotherapy has been recognized as a professional occupation by the U.S. Dictionary of Occupational Titles.

What does it feel like?

Very comfortable, peaceful, natural. You are not anesthetized, unconscious or asleep. Your mind is active, your thoughts are under your control, you perceive all stimuli and you are in complete communication with the operator.

What if I can't be hypnotized?

Just about everyone can be hypnotized. All people go through a state akin to hypnosis before falling asleep. There is no reason why you should not be able to enter a hypnotic state.

How does it work?

Hypnosis puts your conscious "censoring" mind to sleep so that you can dialogue with your "uncensored" subconscious mind, home of all your feelings, habits and memories-- everything that has ever happened to you. This allows deeper, authentic thoughts and feelings to come to the surface, helping you locate, uncover and edit memories of pastexperiences to make the positive and permanent changes you desire. By desensitizing old memories and habits--things you may not know are there but that get in your way--that have emotionally blocked you for years, and inserting positive feelings and actions that work for you, you achieve permanent change.

How did I get all these problems?

Unfortunately, past experiences, guilt feelings, unfulfilled impulses and desires are incessantly pushing themselves into awareness, directly or indirectly, often sabotaging your happiness, health and efficiency. You're not alone. By the time most of us reach adulthood, we have built up many "negative" modes of thinking, feeling and acting whichpersist, like bad habits.

You should know that...

Hypnotherapy nearly always gets results faster than conventional therapy, because the sub-conscious mind is immediately re-programmed,transforming negative thoughts to positive ones, using your own resources to change unwanted behavior to positive action. You, the patient, are always in control. The hypnotist is simply a collaborator who facilitates the process. You will always be aware of what is going on, and are never in any danger or pain.

You can never be made to do anything against your will, nor will you reveal anything you don't want to.

You go as deep as you need to. Some people go deeper than others, but even if you go no deeper than the lightest stages of hypnosis and are merely mildly relaxed, you will still be able to benefit from its therapeutic effects. It is impossible to stay hypnotized. If the hypnotherapist became incapacitated for any reason, you would simply fall asleep for 10 or 15minutes, then wake up feeling as good as ever.

Can I really change anything I want?

Yes, but...it takes time for old habit patterns to disintegrate, so do not be discouraged if there is no immediate effect. Even though there may be no apparent alterations on the surface, a restructuring is going on underneath.

How long does it take?

Each session lasts about 50 minutes. The initial session is longer, so the hypnotherapist can get your history and you can get to know andtrust each other. Most people need 4-10 sessions to effect permanent change, but nearly everyone experiences some change after the first session. Permanent change takes several sessions because the body/mind system, locked into a self-defeating pattern for most of one's life, takes timeto fully readapt itself to new states of being. However, in just a few short weeks changes will be obvious--to you as well as to others.
