Tequesta, the seven-year-old Graded Stakes son of Saint Ballado bred on the same cross as Champion and Horse of the Year Saint Liam, has been moved to Blue House Farm near Chambersburg, Pennsylvania.

A first start winner of a Maiden Special Weight at Belmont Park by four and a half lengths, Tequesta finished just off the board to Cuvee and Limehouse in the Grade 2 Saratoga Stakes for two year olds and defeated or competed against Stakes winners including Pollard's Vision, Read the Footnotes, Artie Schiller and Pomeroy.

The John Kimmel-trained colt overcame difficulties in his Belmont debut over five and a half furlongs as noted in the race summary: "Tequesta was bumped after the start, raced inside early, rallied four wide approaching the stretch and drew away late under a vigorous hand ride, his rider having lost his whip at the quarter pole."

Tequesta's racing careeer was curtailed by a suspensory injury. He recorded two wins, his other victory coming in an allowance at Gulfstream Park over a mile and a sixteenth, and two thirds from 10 starts and earned $59,860.

Tequesta is bred on the same nick as Breeder's Cup Classic winner, Champion and Horse of the Year Saint Liam ($4,456,995), by Saint Ballado, leading sire of 64 stakes winners and earners of approximately $44 million from just 10 crops, out of a Mr. Prospector line mare. Tequesta is a half brother to Florida-based stallion Arrested ($106,740). His dam, Bodacious Tatas ($439,932), by Mr. Prospector's stakes-winning son Distinctive Pro, won the Molly Pitcher Stakes (G2) and 10 other races and was placed another 26 times in 57 starts.

Tequesta was successfully test bred at the University of Illinois. He will stand, as the property of Blue House Farm, for $1,000 live foal, with the fee waived for mares foaling in Pennsylvania.

Blue House Farm also stands the winning Bold Ruler line stallion Spectaculardynasty, sire of Lone Star Derby winner T. B. Track Star ($480,560).
