Track Star ($337,555) got his third win of 2000 with a six-length score in Lone Star Park's $75,000 Bob Johnson Memorial Stakes on Sunday, July 2, as registered New York-bred; Mr. Groush ($507,584) placed second, 2 1/2 lengths ahead of the third-place finisher. T. B. TRACK STAR, a 4-year-old colt who last year won the $301,650 Lone Star Derby drawing off, captured the Bob Johnson in 1:35 for a mile, leading wire-to-wire and running his second quarter-mile in :22 4/5. T. B. Track Star is among two winners from three starters this year representing Spectaculardynasty, who broke his maiden at Churchill Downs on Derby Day and is by one of the greatest racehorses of the 20th century, New York stallion Spectacular Bid. Spectaculardynasty's dam, Daraly, is a winning Alydar mare who is a half-sister to a stakes winner and to a grade 2 stakes producer. T. B. Track star is the second winner (following a first-out-winning filly by New York stallion Prosper Fager) produced by She's a Barron, a Track Barron mare who was unplaced in eight starts.
