The August meeting of the Mason Dixon Corvette Club was held on August 11, 2008 at Greenvillage, Chambersburg, PA. President Jeff Bishop called the meeting to order. On a motion made by Tom Martin and 2nd by Dan Berg the minutes were accepted. Treasurers Report was read by Dick Bender, on a motion made by Bob Laughlin and 2nd by Ralph Helman were approved.

The September meeting of the Mason Dixon Corvette Club was held on September 8, 2008 at Tony’s Pizza, Hagerstown, MD President Jeff Bishop called the meeting to order. On a motion made by Joan Rauschenber and 2nd by John Batzel the treasurers report was accepted.

GOVERNOR REPORT

Jay reported on Bowling Green next year will be the 15th Anniversary.

Jay Gift & Bob Laughlin were in the Anniversary tents. Jay with a 1958 and Bob with his 1978.

OLD BUSINESS:

• Dick Bender has hat’s for sale $10.00 a piece. They come in pink, blue, purple & black. One size fits all.

• Jeff Bishop announce the Fall Cruise will be on Oct. 12, 2008 and we will be going to Mount Vernon. We will meet at the Sheetz Store on Route 40 and Route 66, Hagerstown and leave by 7:30 AM. We will be having lunch at the Mount Vernon Inn. $11.00 per person and $5.00 extra for tour. You may want to bring a car cover as we will be parking under trees.

• Dick report there were 62 people at the picnic. We had 30-31 corvettes. Everyone

had a good time. The pool got used a lot this year. The weather was great.

• Ron Flegel reported that Mont Alto Fire Company and MDCC will have a show at their new Community Center Sept. 27, 2008. The money raised will benefit the Fire Company. Reg. 2:30 to 4:00 PM, show 4:00 to 6:00 PM, awards at 6:30 PM. $10.00 reg. fee. They will have a pig roast and some rides.

• Ron Flegel reported on the M & S Show that was held on Aug. 30, 2008. We 

raised $2,800.00 this year it will benefit the Children’s Aid Society (Frances Leiter Center) We had 128 total entries, 80 corvettes and 48 motorcycles. WAY TO GO CORVETTES!!! Thanks to all who participated.

NEW BUSINESS

• Four new member for the month of September. We have 130 as of 9-8-08. We

need you to bring in new members. A new application is on our web site.

· "Where Is The Banner". If anyone knows where the banner is would you please return it to the club.

· The Herald Mail newspaper had a article from the Marion Car Show that was held on Aug. 3, 2008 and they also did an article on our Club. Ron Yaukey’s picture was in the paper and the report talked to Ron Yaukey, Bob Laughlin and Suzy Sease to get some history on the Club. It was a very nice article.

· Bob Laughlin asked if there was any interest on doing the Halloween Parade,

Monday Nov. 3 rain date Tuesday Nov. 4. We will leave the Church (East of Mercersburg at 6:30 PM.) Bob also reported that Bob Sease in the Hagerstown Hospital. He would appreciate your prayers and if you would like to visit he would be glad to see you. Bob came home on Monday 9-15-08.

• Car Show 7-20-08 at Tri State Fellowship church

Eric Myers and Chris & Joan Rauschenberger were winners in the top 25.

· Chris Rauschenberger reported they were at the Ft. Loudon American Legion Car Show and MDCC won a plaque for the most members from on club.

· Dickie asked for cars for the Shippensburg Homecoming Parade Sat. Oct. 25. They need 8 to 10 corvettes-convertibles need to be there at 9:30, parade starts at 10:15. If interested call Dickie. Dickie also reported on a Bed & Breakfast – Big Bear Lodge in Vermont- Host a weekend for corvettes. Check out the web site: www.bigbearslodge.com . Might be a great place for a Spring Cruise.

· Rudy Slifer won the 50/50 $21.00
