The May meeting of the Mason Dixon Corvette Club was held on May 12, 2008 at Tony’s Pizza, Hagerstown, MD. President Jeff Bishop called the meeting to order. On a motion made by Bill Leight and 2^nd by Peggi Helman the minutes were accepted. Treasurers Report was read by Dick Bender, on a motion made by Bob Laughlin and 2^nd by Tom Martin were approved.

Jack reported that the 50^th Anniversary of the Museum will be held next year, more information to follow.

• Dick Bender has hat’s for sale $10.00 a piece. They come in pink, blue, purple & black. One size fits all.

• Suzy reported on the Spring Cruise held on 4-26-08. There were 16 corvettes, 1 Jeep and 1 Honda. The weather was great. Everyone seemed to have a good time and enjoyed the dinner.

• Ron Flegel reported on the car show that was held on May 10, 2008 at Buchanan Automotive. There were 19 corvettes registered. The weather started out bad then got nice by lunch time. We took in $283.35 for the Annual Gala Auction for the American Cancer Society. A list of winners is listed under new business.

• Dickie’s drive to Tom Shaffer’s will be 7-13-08. Sign up sheet and count need by

our June meeting. We will meet at M & S Harley Davison no later than 11:45 AM.

We will stop and eat, then be at Tom’s by mid afternoon.

∙ Jack Irby announced the Manassas, VA cruise is August 9, 2008, Time will be

4:00 to 8:00 PM more information to follow.

• One new member for the month of May. We have 121 as of 5-12-08. We

need you to bring in new members. A new application is on our web site.

• On a motion made by Bob Laughlin and seconded by Ralph Helman the club will donate $217.00 to be added to the $283.35 raised at the show, to bring the total to $500.00 for the Cancer Auction.

· The Club Picnic will be Saturday July 19, 2008 at Dick & Bonnie Benders house. It is the Club’s 35^th Anniversary. Hope to have some special events. Hope everyone can come. If you see any past members, please invite them to come. $12.00 per person. Sign up sheet will be passed around at June & July meetings. Need count and money by July 14 meeting.

· Bonnie received a call from Jim Rosen author of Route 66. He goes around and gives a promotion of his book. Jeff will call him and invite him to a meeting at Green Village in August.

• Ron Flegel reported that Mont Alto Fire Company would like us to have a cruise-in /show at their new Community Center sometime in July or August. Ron will be checking with them for more information.

· Curtis Mummert won the 50/50 $27.00

Jeff Bishop won a poster.

Casie (Granddaughter of Bobbie & Steve Smith) won a hat.

Robin won a long sleeve shirt.

• Lisa Myers brought up about changing our Hagerstown meeting to a new place.

Bill Leight is going to check out the Western Sizzlin Steakhouse, will bring

information to the June meeting at Green Village.

• Jeff reported that sign up for Free State Ocean City starts on June 1, 2008.

• NOTE:The club has received some free passes to NCM. If you can use them

contact Dick Bender.

• On a motion made by Bill Leight and 2^nd by Eric Myers meeting was

adjourned at 8:35 P.M.
